The Art"Memory
is very important, the memory of each photo taken, flowing at the
same speed as the event. During the work, you have to be sure that
you haven't left any holes, that you've captured everything, because
afterwards it will be too late." - Henri Cartier-Bresson
"The camera makes everyone a tourist in other people's reality, and eventually in one's own." - Susan Sontag I consider myself an accidental tourist in the land of photography. A master's degree in art did not prepare me for the technical world of lighting, f-stops and shutter-speeds, and more recently megapixels and color balance, etc. But it did make me roam the continent of Paul Klee, Monent, Rambrandt, and others -- in search of a vision. It prepared me to see, to appreciate and learn from the masters. Years
later, after building a successful advertising design studio in
New York City serving the fashion industry, my passion for photography
broke through. From shooting portraits of friends, children and
people in their environment, I graduated to the fast-paced and demanding
world of events photography. And I am "in the zone" every
time I am behind the camera.
These
quotes have said volumes about my feelings for photography and my
understanding of the world we live in, more than I can express myself.
Let's explore together.
